FIVE men and a woman have been arrested in Ellesmere Port for drug offences as part of an ongoing police crackdown.

Detectives investigating serious and organised crime in the town made the arrests on Wednesday, April 17.

One woman, aged 28, and four men, aged 38, 30, 64 and 43 were all arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to import cannabis.

A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

All are currently in police custody waiting to be questioned by detectives.

Five warrants were executed at addresses on Parklands View, Firenza Avenue, Tarvin Close, Park Road and Sutton Way.

Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) will be in the area to provide reassurance to residents.

The force's efforts are part of an ongoing fight against drug crime gangs in Ellesmere Port.

Last November early morning raids were carried out at a series of Ellesmere Port properties as four men and a woman were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs and money laundering.

The five accused have since been released under investigation.
