POLICE say they are satisfied no gun was involved in an incident involving armed officers stopping a Chester bound bus last month.
A motorist and passenger reported that a man pointed what looked like a handgun at their vehicle as it travelled through Gresford near the Beeches hotel before he boarded a number one bus towards Chester shortly after 5pm on Sunday March 31.
Armed officers stopped and searched the bus before it left North Wales and searched several other buses on the route, but no suspect was found or firearm located.
At the time of the incident, Supt Mark Pierce said: āIād like to reassure the public that no one was hurt and enquires are ongoing to establish the circumstances.
However, North Wales Police confirmed they have now closed the matter, after carrying out a thorough investigation.
A spokesman said: "We carried an investigation, including a thorough review of CCTV footage. We are satisfied that no gun was involved and that no offences were committed."
