FIVE members of staff at The Ice Cream Farm in Tattenhall near Chester are to take to the skies in aid of a local good cause.

The farm has picked Chester-based children's charity Adoption Matters to support as its charity of choice for 2019, with a team of five raising funds by taking part in a 10,000ft tandem skydive.

Adoption Matters recruits, trains and supports adoptive families and offers ongoing support and training for as long as they need it.

The Ice Cream Farm will support the charity by displaying donation boxes on each till point at the farm and representing the charity on an information kiosk at key times, to raise awareness about adoption and the shortage of adoptive parents.

The Ice Cream Farm also plans to hold a series of fundraising events alongside the charity.

General manager of The Ice Cream Farm, Katie Lewis, said: “We are consistently committed to supporting charities at The Ice Cream Farm and are so pleased to be supporting Adoption Matters for 2019.

"They really are the perfect fit for The Ice Cream Farm and our family values and we look forward to working alongside them this year on a range of events and initiatives.”

Adoption Matters fundraising and relationship manager Sarah Johnson added: “We are absolutely delighted to be The Ice Cream Farm’s charity of the year and can’t wait to get started.

"Having a presence at the farm is a great way for us to raise awareness and funds, as well as for visitors to find out more information about adoption.

"We have lots planned for 2019, including a fundraising tandem skydive! We’re looking forward to working alongside The Ice Cream Farm team on planning plenty more fun events for the coming year.”

The staff members' tandem skydive is scheduled to take place at Tilstock, Whitchurch on Saturday, May 11. To donate, visit uk.virginmoneygiving.com/Team/ICFSkyDiveForAdoptionMatters.
