A SHEEP dog was rescued from the River Dee in Chester after it became trapped in weeds.
Firefighters from the city's station attended the scene at Ferry Lane at 10.50am on Friday (April 5), alongside the rope rescue unit from Lymm and the animal rescue unit from Bollington.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "The border collie had become tangled in some weeds in the river and two firefighters with swift water rescue training entered the river to rescue the dog."
