PEOPLE driving into Chester this morning could be forgiven for thinking that a new fountain had been installed.
Watergate was living up to its name as water flowed beneath the bridge spanning the A548 road between Watergate Street and New Crane Street - one of the main routes into the city.
The cause was a burst waterpipe spewing water into the air and on to the road.
As of 11am today (Friday, March 29) there were no workers on site to deal with the issue.
Work had been underway at the location at the junction of Watergate Street and Nuns Road for several days this week causing short tailbacks on to the A5268.
