A FAMILY has launched a fundraising campaign to create special memories for two little girls after their mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Kayleighanne Thomas, 29, of Ellesmere Port, is undergoing treatment for cervical cancer at Clatterbridge Hospital in Wirral but her family have been warned that her prognosis is not good.

If follows on from chemotherapy and radiotherapy she endured last year - but unfortunately the cancer has returned.

Now her mum, Paula Thomas, 49, is trying to raise money to create memories of Kayleighanne for her two young daughters Maddison and Esme, aged eight and four, who both attend Westminster Primary School.

Paula said: "She was diagnosed with cervical cancer year ago. She had chemo and radio last year but at Christmas we found out it was incurable; she has got two years to live. She is still having chemo every three weeks and she lost her hair on Sunday.

"She is a single mother and her kids are devastated that their mummy is poorly."

Paula and friends are organising a funday for Kayleighanne, which she has promoted on the Pride in the Port Facebook group.

It will take place at Rake Hall, Little Stanney, between 11am and 4pm, on Sunday, June 9.

Paula added: "The fun day is for her to to make memories with her children so the girls can enjoy time together with her before she gets too bad."

Anyone wishing to have a stall at the funday, or who would like to donate items for the raffle and tombola, can contact Paula or Lyndsey Dean through the Pride in the Port group.
