CHESTER MP Chris Matheson aims to join the ‘put it to the people’ march, joining many thousands in demanding a final say on the terms of the Brexit deal.

Pro-European activist group Chester For Europe learned of Chris’s planned attendance as he joined them at one of their street events in Blacon on early this month.

The London march is set to be the biggest demonstration yet of the peoples wish for a final say on Brexit, surpassing the last march on October 20 which attracted 750,000 people.

The Chester for Europe group will attempt to rendezvous with the MP on the day.

Chester for Europe anticipate in excess of 150 people to travel down to London associated with the group with Coaches organised to travel down to London accompanied by activists in cars, and on the train planning to join them. This could represent around a 50% increase on the over 100 activists which attended the October rally with the Chester group.

Chair of the Chester for Europe, Noel McGlinchey said: “We are really pleased that our MP is marching with Chester for Europe and actively supports giving the final say to the people in Parliament.

“As a group we have been surprised ourselves by how our numbers have grown, and this march promises to be no exception. We expect even larger numbers than last time, which was the second biggest protest march in recent British political history.

“All those attending will be delivering the clear message that this deal is very far from ‘the will of the people’, that allowing people, not politicians to decide is the democratic thing to do.

“We are very pleased that our political representation in parliament is of this view and it is a shame others appear not to have the same bravery in relation to standing up for the interests of the nation and their constituents. “

Coaches organised by Chester for Europe will depart from the Holiday Inn South, Wrexham Road, Chester at 6am arriving in London at 10.45am

Anyone wishing to book a place on the coach can do so from £3.10 each way via the Chester for Europe website https://www.chesterforeurope.org/march/
