CADETS from 1074 (Ellesmere Port) Squadron travelled to RAF Woodvale to learn about taking to the skies.
The group fulfilled the first stage of its Blue Wings Requirements with the completion of the Cadet Aviation Familiarisation course at 631 Volunteer Gliding School (VGS), where cadets competed training on the Part-Task Trainer (PTT) Flight Simulator, Flight Navigation and Aerospace Management.
1074 (Ellesmere Port) Squadron will now be holding an open evening for the people of Ellesmere Port on Thursday, March 28 from 7.30pm-9pm that is open to all to demonstrate some of the activities and skills that are on offer to Royal Air Force Air Cadets.
The squadron hopes to see parents and family of current cadets as well as those interested in becoming a part of the squadron on the evening to give everyone a better idea of what being an air cadet is all about.
The Royal Air Force Air Cadets is open to all young people ages 12 (Year 8) to 18 and offers the opportunity for cadets to experience many areas including flying, gliding, target shooting, leadership, the Duke of Edinburgh Award, visits and camps to active RAF stations across Europe and much more.
