PUPILS of an Ellesmere Port school enjoyed a visit from the Short Story Lady as part of this year's World Book Day.
College Gardens, on Sutton Way, welcomed pupils from William Stockton Primary School to have a professional storyteller bring stories to life inside their Stambourne showhome.
Carol Ferro, who goes by the name of ‘Short Story Lady’, was on hand to bring the children’s imagination to life through some of her best told stories.
Mark Allen, headteacher at William Stockton Primary School, said: “We’re really pleased Barratt Homes could offer the opportunity of a storytelling session to a group of our pupils.
“We would like to give them a big thank you for the fun afternoon inside their gorgeous showhome. It was a really enjoyable day out for the children and a great way to get them involved in World Book Day.”
Carol Ferro, professional storyteller, said: “We had a magical afternoon together, the children joined in with stories taking them to space and to giant castles, all in the comfort of the showhome.”
Michaela Lancaster, sales director at Barratt Manchester, said: “We were more than happy to invite the pupils of William Stockton Primary School along to our College Gardens development.
“We like to stay active in the communities in which we build our developments, and seeing as World Book Day is coming up, we couldn’t think of a better opportunity to invite the children along to a show home for some storytelling!”
