FORECASTERS have issued a warning for strong gusts of up to 80mph as Storm Freya sweeps across Merseyside.
The Met Office have put a severe yellow warning out for "very strong" winds across Wales, the North West and North East on Sunday, March 3 from 3pm until Monday, March 4 at 6am.
Members of the public are being warned to expect delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport and are urging drivers of high-sided vehicles to take care crossing bridges.
There may also be short term loss of power and dip in phone signals.
Coastal areas such as New Brighton can expect to see gusts of up to 80mph and residents living near the coast are being warned of large waves and debris.
Forecasters are warning that Storm Freya will bring "dangerous conditions" when it pushes quickly through England.

A Met Office spokesman said: "Storm Freya will bring very strong winds, with some travel disruption and possible dangerous conditions late Sunday and into Monday.
"Storm Freya is expected to push quickly north-east across parts of England, Wales and southern Scotland through Sunday afternoon and evening, before clearing into the North Sea through the early part of Monday.
"Guts of 55-65 mph are likely widely, with the potential for gusts of 70-80 mph for coastal parts of Devon and Cornwall, as well as Irish Sea coasts of Wales and north-west England."
