A Flintshire teenager and his dance partner were showered with praise following their final performance on a national TV comptition.

Harry Smallman from Connah’s Quay and dance partner Eleiyah Navis competed in the final of BBC One’s The Greatest Dancer on Saturday evening.

They were one of four remaining acts - the others being Ellie, KLA and James and Oliver.

Harry and Eleiyah took to the stage with dance captain Cheryl for the first of their two performances, which received high praise from the other captains.

Oti Mabuse said: "Every week you guys come here and bring it. The way you make everything look easy is out of this world. You looked phenomenal."

Matthew Morrison added: "Week in, week out you're such a powerhouse duo. You were great."

Harry and Eleiyah avoided elimination at the first vote, which saw James and Oliver leave the show.

Their second dance also received strong feedback.

Fighting back tears, Cheryl said: "I want to say thank you for being amazing, thank you for trusting me.

"I am going to miss you terribly. Whatever you go on to do, you're going to be great."

Oti added: "Wow, I loved you guys so much - I could watch you dance all day.

"What you can do is so incredible."

At the final vote, Ellie was announced the winner.

Harry said the final night on the show had been "amazing" and Eleiyah said their last dance had been "on another level".

Cheryl added: "They're such hard workers. They left such a huge impression on me.

"I am really proud of them."
