THE best ways to manage weight loss and weight maintenance will be considered at a public lecture taking place at the University of Chester next week.

Dr Orla Flannery, senior lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University, and weight management expert, will be exploring the evidence and reviewing what ‘works’ in terms of diet, physical activity and behaviour change.

Her seminar will look at where the gaps are in the literature and provide some practice recommendations.

Dr Flannery said: “The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recommends a combination of diet, physical activity and behaviour for weight management interventions – this talk will look at what actually works in practice.”

The seminar takes place on Wednesday, February 27, and is free to attend. It takes place at 6pm in the Beswick 017 lecture theatre at the Parkgate Road Campus and is expected to last about 50 minutes. Refreshments will be provided from 5.45pm. Please email a.morgan@chester.ac.uk to book a place.
