TREE surgeon Jack Eric Morgan fell out with his dad and caused damage to the barbecue and the garage door at his parents' home.

Morgan, of Old Wrexham Road in Gresford, had been cleared at an earlier hearing of causing damage to his father's Mercedes car and other property to the value of £2,000.

It all happened on the defendant's birthday.

At North East Wales Magistrates Court at Mold he was placed on a 12 month community order with rehabilitation and told to perform 100 hours of unpaid work.

He was ordered to pay £50 compensation with £85 costs and an £85 surcharge.

Prosecutor Justin Espie said Morgan, 27, was shouting and screaming and when his father said he would call the police Morgan said he did not care and offered to do it for him.

Stephen Edwards, defending, said it was an unusual and sad case.

Morgan had attended at his parents' home at the invitation of his mother to pick up his birthday present but he fell out with the father over the recovery of tools from the garage and the defendant, who had a short temper, admitted damaging the garage door and a barbecue.

Mr Edwards said his client was a tree surgeon who wanted his tools of the trade and planned to buy a vehicle and set up his own business.

Time would tell if there could be a reconciliation with the father, he said.

Morgan admitted causing damage at his parents' home in Gresford last October but after evidence was called it was agreed he should be sentenced on his own version of events.
