A MAN has accepted a fraud totalling more than £100,000 against his adopted parents who come from the Rossett area.

Owen Peter Waddilove, 28, appeared in the dock at Mold Crown Court where he admitted two charges of fraud dated between April 2017 and May 2018 involving his adopted parents' NatWest and Halifax accounts.

He also admitted a further fraud where he applied and used a card which was in his adopted father's name and a fourth charge involving his adopted mother's Marks & Spencer credit card.

Waddilove, of West Grove, Sale, Greater Manchester, denied three other fraud charges but prosecutor Matthew Curtis said the defendant's pleas were acceptable.

He said the prosecution at this stage alleged that globally the fraud involved about £140,000.

But further evidence would be served so a defence basis of plea could be prepared and Mr Curtis said it was hoped an agreed position of about £100,000 would be achieved by the sentencing hearing.

Judge Niclas Parry was told the defence would be seeking a psychiatric report. He ordered a pre-sentence report and adjourned sentence to April 8.

The court heard Waddilove and his new partner were about to have a child.

An application was made for a bail condition, that he should have no contact with his adopted parents, could be lifted so they could see their new grandchild.

The judge said if there was no objection by the police by Tuesday afternoon, then the bail condition could be lifted.
