NORTH Wales Police are reminding the public to be considerate of road safety and parking ahead of the arrival of Airbus’ new aircraft at Hawarden Aerodrome this afternoon.

A spokesman for North Wales Police said: “Due to considerable expected interest in the BelugaXL’s arrival at Airbus, can members of the public please be mindful of road safety and please be considerate when parking.

“Officers will be in attendance to ensure this is adhered to, and we would rather not have to take enforcement action on what should be a memorable occasion for aircraft enthusiasts.”

The extra-large version of the Beluga plane is due to land in Broughton at 3.30pm.

It is scheduled to leave Airbus’ headquarters in Toulouse, France, at 1pm and head to Airbus’ Filton factory near Bristol for a flypast at 2.25pm.

The aircraft will then head up the River Severn for a flypast over the Severn Bridge at 2.30pm, before heading to Rolls Royce’s factory in Derby for another flypast at about 3.10pm.

An Airbus spokesman said: “Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate sightseers on the factory site and so would encourage people to head to the Chocks Away Diner by the aerodrome, rather than block the public footpaths or create dangers for themselves or other road users.”
