YOUNGSTERS from Bishop Wilson Primary School in Burton visited the RSPB Burton Mere Wetlands on a sunny winter’s day.
The Year 5 and 6 pupils enjoyed being outdoors and indulged in a spot of bird-watching.
Sharon Jones, school business manager, said: “All the children at Bishop Wilson have membership to the RSPB and with the Burton Mere Wetlands being right on our doorstep, we are able to visit this site regularly throughout the year.
“The children compared the estuary here with the Mersey and used compasses to inform observational recording as well as observing the birds. We were lucky enough to even see a Little Egret!”
