A motorist was warned he faces a “lengthy jail sentence” after he pleaded guilty to causing serious injury to a 10-year-old boy.
Keegan Kenneth Doyle, 23, of Warren Drive, Broughton admitted causing serious injury to Alfie Watts by dangerous driving at Park Avenue in Saltney on January 6 this year.
Doyle also admitted arson in that he damaged a Ford Fiesta owned by Hannah Nicholson on the same date.
The court heard that Alfie Watts was in an induced coma at Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool having suffered a fractured skull. He was riding a bike when he was hit by the Ford Fiesta driven by Doyle.
Judge Rhys Rowlands told Doyle his driving disqualification would start from today and that he would still be granted conditional bail.
But he warned him: “A custodial sentence of quite a considerable length is inevitable in this case.”
Doyle was told to reappear at Mold Crown Court on March 5.
