A HEATING component failure means Chester's Northgate Arena will remain closed on Friday morning.

A statement issued by the Brio Leisure-run sporting facility on social media read on Thursday afternoon: "We’re really sorry everyone but we’ve got a bit of bad news to share:

"A part from our Building Management System has failed, which means that we’re unable to provide hot water or heating, and as such Northgate Arena will be closed from 6.30am on Friday morning until further notice.

"We’ll remain open this evening [Thursday] as the building is already fully heated, however by Friday morning it’ll be too cold to open.

"Although we’ll have to wait for the replacement part to be delivered, we may have a short-term solution, which will be tested on Friday morning. We can’t currently give an estimate on when we’ll re-open, but we’ll make sure to update you all on Facebook and Twitter and via the website.

"Thanks for your patience, we’ll hopefully have an update soon!"

The Northgate Arena advises users to keep checking the website and its social media pages for updates.

People who have memberships are advised to use alternative Brio Leisure sites on Friday, while those who have paid for venue-specific Friday lessons will be reimbursed if the building is closed, the company confirmed.
