ONE person has been taken to hospital after being trapped in a car on the A55.
Firefighters from Chester were called to reports of a collision shortly after 2pm on the Westbound carriageway of the A55 between the Posthouse roundabout and Broughton.
A spokesman for the Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed there had been a collision between a car and a HGV and one person was trapped in the car as a result.
Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to release the man and were on scene for approximately 45 minutes.
He was then passed to the care of Ambulance service and taken to hospital.
Police officers closed the road but it has since been reopened. Motorists should still expect long delays as traffic clears.
