A YOUNG woman from Ellesmere Port was gutted when she bought a Quarter Pounder with Cheese from McDonald’s – only to discover it had no cheese.

Stacey Price jokingly posted a picture on Facebook of her forlorn-looking burger, which was also devoid of onions and gherkins, after visiting the drive-thru at Cheshire Oaks on Wednesday.

Chester and District Standard:

Stacey's burger had no cheese, onions or gherkins!

It has elicited a host of hilarious responses, from people blaming Brexit to one man’s claim that a Big Mac he ordered from the same branch came with nothing apart from the buns!

Stacey, who gave The Standard permission to use her photo of the cheese-less burger, said she had called the branch who were very apologetic.

She said: “The girl was lovely completely empathised and I have a code for a new meal when I want.”

In her original post on the Pride in the Port Facebook page, she wrote: “Not norm one to post on here but this is my quarter pounder with cheese meal from the oaks!!

“So I’ve paid a fiver for a plain hamburger where’s my CHEESE?!”

One man then asked: “Where's all the onions and sauce?” To which Stacey responded: “You tell me!!! Lol.”

Chester and District Standard:

How the Quarter Pounder with Cheese should look.

One burger fan said: “Take it back. They will give you vouchers. I got £20s worth years ago for finding a hair melted in my cheese burger from there.”

And another posted a picture of a box with just two burger baps inside, saying: “To put it in perspective for you also I was at the hospital for over 32 hours and not eaten a meal. Got a Big Mac on the way home looking forward to it and then BAM have some buns hun!”

One woman also posted a photo of a meat-free Big Mac, saying: “Beat ye hands down with my burgerless Big Mac.”

Stacey then informed everyone that the customer service had been excellent at the restaurant, saying: “I’ve rang and the girl was lovely. Gonna replace meal when I next go - I was just so excited for cheese!”

It comes just days after McDonald’s offered free cheeseburgers to cheer people up on Blue Monday, leading some to question whether staff simply ran out of cheese.

McDonald's have been approached for a comment.
