THE chairman of the Chester Ladies Luncheon Club, Mrs Vivien Roberts, welcomed former Conservative MP Mrs Edwina Currie to its latest meeting at the Queen Hotel, Chester.
Mrs Currie gave a fascinating account of her time as MP when Margaret Thatcher was Prime Minister and also her recent involvement in various TV shows such as I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here and Celebrity Mastermind.
A total of 135 members and guests attended the event, travelling from the Wirral, North Wales and Cheshire.
The club was formed in 1962 and has six lunches a year, October to March, at the Queen Hotel.
