TRAINED police negotiators had to be called in to defuse a domestic incident in a Chester tower block in the early hours today (Saturday, January 19).
Emergency services were initially called to a 10th floor apartment on Glyn Garth, off Nevin Road in Blacon, at around 4.10am.
Officers were unable to gain access to the property as the occupants were locked inside, a Cheshire Police spokesman told The Standard.
“There has then been a period of negotiation where the female has left and the male remained inside,” he said. “That went on for some hours.
“Trained negotiators attended to get the male to come out safely.”
At 9.26am the man, aged 31, was arrested for affray and remains in police custody. The woman, aged 35, was unharmed.
