A PRO-EU campaigner is to speak in Chester on the topic of how to win a people's vote on Brexit.

Lord Andrew Adonis will appear with other pro-EU guest speakers Jason Hunter and Christina Tegolo on February 6.

The prominent European Lord will be at the event, hosted and organised by Chester for Europe, at The Firs School, Newton Lane, Chester, from 7pm-10pm.

Hundreds are expected to attend the talks, which will focus on the issues of securing a final say on the Brexit deal, with speakers explaining why remaining inside the EU is the best deal for Britain, for Chester and for Europe.

Those interested in attending the event can apply for free for the few remaining tickets via Eventbrite here or through logging on through the Chesterforeurope.org website.

Chair of Chester for Europe, Noel McGlinchey said: “It is an honour and privilege to host such prominent pro-European speakers, keen to visit our lovely European city to speak to a growing number of people here in Chester who think Brexit is a mistake.

“We have had to expand the size if the event to accommodate exceptional demand and expect standing room only, although we will do what we can to accommodate people’s standing needs.

“If you feel this deal is not what people voted for, and a final say is what is best for Britain – or simply want to learn more, then grab the remaining tickets while you can.”
