A WOMAN had to be cut out of her car following a two-vehicle smash outside a Chester supermarket.

Two fire engines from Chester and Winsford attended the scene on Hartford Way near Aldi at around 1pm on Thursday (January 10).

The driver of one of the cars could not open her door so firefighters used special equipment to free her.

A police spokesman confirmed no one had been injured in the crash.

A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Shortly after 1pm firefighters were called to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Hartford Way in Chester.

"On arrival crews found that a female was trapped inside a vehicle. Firefighters stabilised the vehicle and, after setting up extrication equipment, got the casualty out of it.

"They then handed her over to the care of paramedics."
