CHESTER officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward after robbers targeted a delivery driver in Waverton.

Shortly after 7am on Tuesday, January 8, a 44-year-old delivery driver parked his heavy goods vehicle at the rear of the One Stop Shop on Millway Road.

The man got out of his van and began to unload the vehicle when he was approached by a number of men wearing dark clothing and masks.

Fearing for his safety, the man sought refuge in the shop and called the police.

Officers swiftly attended the scene and on arrival they discovered that a quantity of alcohol and cigarettes from the van had been stolen.

Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or anyone who was driving in the area and has any dashcam footage which may aid the investigation.

“We believe that there may have been a number of people in the area at the time of this incident and I’m keen to hear from anyone who believes they may have witnessed anything suspicious.
