A DRUNKEN reveller causing a scene outside a Chester pub told police officers he was Tom Jones when they asked for his details.
Thomas Paul Bisby, 31, had got into an argument outside The Watergates in the city centre at around 12.40am on December 10 following a “misunderstanding”.
Prosecuting at Chester Magistrates Court, Kate Wilson said: “When police attended and asked for details he was obstructive and said he was Tom Jones.”
His speech was said to be slurred and he was “unsteady on his feet”.
Bisby, of Saughall Road, Blacon, continually refused to identify himself and became aggressive, swearing at the officers.
He was arrested and later pleaded guilty to using threatening or abusive words or behaviour in a public place.
Defending himself, Bisby said: “I’m really embarrassed and sorry.”
District Judge Nicholas Sanders fined him £125 and also ordered him to pay £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
He told Bisby: “This sort of thing does have an effect on other people in Chester. Everyone is out to have a good time and they don’t need people like you mucking things up.”
