POLICE have released a shocking image of a horror crash involving HGVs on the M6 that left a woman hospitalised.
The multi-vehicle collision occured on the M6 northbound carriageway at Sandbach on Monday (December 17) and forced the road to be closed overnight.
A woman had to be cut free and taken to hospital following the incident.
North West Motorway Police said: "The female driver is recovering in hospital
"The force of the impact ripped the engine out of the tractor unit hence the delay in us opening the lanes."
