A DENBIGH family is seeking to "pay it forward" this Christmas

Following her own struggles last year, Vicky Riley is trying to home two Christmas trees with other disadvantaged families this festive season.

The two trees, one about 6 foot and the other more than 5 foot, were found while Mrs Riley was loft hunting for this year's decorations.

Mrs Riley said "My husband got made redundant last year and we were extremely hard up and so many people came forward to help, it was a tight Christmas but we felt so loved and happy. We just want to pay it forward, unfortunately we haven't had a single request for them.

"It would be nice to know they've brightened up someone's Christmas. I know they are so expensive to buy when you have very little.

"I know it was hard for us to accept the help and we'd never have asked so I was really hoping that someone would come forward privately and just say they needed one without anyone else needing to know."

"I really want them to go to families who genuinely can't afford a tree this year rather than being taken by someone who can which is why we haven't put them up for sale."
