REPAIRS to Tower Wharf Promenade alongside the River Dee near Sealand Road in Chester will begin from Monday, December 10.
The Promenade will be closed for the repairs due to deterioration of the timber decking and support beams.
Work is expected to finish in spring 2019.
The Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment, Cllr Karen Shore, said: “The existing timber decking and supports will be removed and then new durable glass reinforced plastic (GRP) support beams will be installed to support new GRP planks. The new deck planks will be made from 80 per cent recycled plastic.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but a closure is needed for safety reasons.”
The diversion for pedestrians and cyclists is via Saddlery Way and New Crane Street.
