BROUGHTON Shopping is encouraging locals to get into the Christmas spirit this week.

On Thursday, November 29, shoppers can enjoy an evening of Yuletide celebrations with a traditional brass band, costumed characters and stilt walkers.

Throughout the evening, the band will be spreading festive cheer by performing popular Christmas songs and bellboys will also be on hand to help shoppers carry bags to their cars and surprise them with free treats.

Alan Barker, central manager at Broughton Shopping, said: "We can't wait to welcome families across Flintshire to our event and kick-start the Christmas season in style. We've made sure that there's something for all the family so everyone can get into the festive spirit.

"Our Christmas events are always really popular, helping to add a touch of magic to the centre when our shoppers visit us to pick up the perfect gift or spend some quality time together."

Free face painting will also be on offer in a pop-up igloo outside Boots as well as a craft station in front of Nando's where adults can design a personalised Christmas decoration to take home.

The festive event will be held between 4pm and 9pm and the shopping park's late-night opening hours will also start on Thursday, November 29 with selected stores opening from 9am to 9pm in the run up to Christmas.
