A YOUNG child has been taken to hospital following an incident in Handbridge this morning (Monday, November 19).
The North West Air Ambulance and a rapid response ambulance vehicle were deployed to the scene of the incident in Overleigh Road, near St Mary's Church, at 10.29am.
A spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service confirmed a young infant had been taken by air ambulance to Alder Hey Children's Hospital.
It is unclear at this stage how the incident unfolded.
