A FAMILY pet has died following a house fire in Flint.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service was called to the blaze on Dovey Close about 7.25pn on Thursday.
The blaze led to the death of the family dog and three people were taken to hospital for smoke inhalation.
Clwyd Alyn Housing Association, which owns the house, said it was a ‘significant’ fire.
David Lewis, executive director of asset management for Clwyd Alyn Housing Association, said: “We can confirm that there was a significant fire at one of our Clwyd Alyn properties in Flint on the night of Thursday, November 15.

“The residents were safely evacuated from the property, although we understand that unfortunately a family pet died in the fire.
“North Wales Fire and Rescue Service attended the fire and we are now working closely with our partner agencies to ensure that safe accommodation is provided while the full damage is assessed, and repair work undertaken.”
Two fire crews from Deeside and Flint were at the scene and used breathing apparatus and a thermal camera to tackle the blaze.
A spokesman for the fire service said the cause is still under investigation and the extent of the damage is not yet known.
