A SPECIAL screening of locally filmed crowdfunded sitcom Morbid is to take place in Ellesmere Port.

The showing of Morbid will be held at the NCC Community Cinema will be on Friday, November 30.

Director Michael Dee, from Take The Cake Productions, said: "Morbid had its premier showing at Storyhouse in Chester just a few weeks ago and many locals were disappointed that they couldn't get tickets to this sold out event.

"With this in mind, we thought it would be a great idea to try to show it in the town itself, especially after so many local people had helped support us and had also put up with us while we were filming there.

"The community cinema offered us the use of their facilities and so we have set the date – I will be there on the night alongside members of the cast and crew and we will also be doing a Q&A after. It's going to be a fun night."

Since the premiere, Morbid has received great reviews and critical acclaim as a five-star 'laugh out loud' comedy and a return to 'the true British comedy'.

With 70 per cent of the cast and crew being made up of people from the Port it shines a light on some of the creative talent in the town.

A spokeswoman for the NCC Community Cinema said: "We really are excited to be hosting this special night. Along with our monthly 'Movie Nights' and the new 'Family Movie Afternoons' this is great news and helps us to spread the word further about the Community Cinema."

Doors open at 7.30pm and it is free entry with free refreshments all kindly provided by The Port Grocery.
