CHESHIRE'S Carden Park hotel is celebrating a prestigious win at the annual World Golf Awards held at La Manga Club, Spain.

Voted for by golf tourism consumers, as well as professionals in the industry, the England’s Best Golf Hotel award is confirmation of the standard of golfing facilities at the hotel, which has two championship golf courses.

General manager Hamish Ferguson, who collected the award, said: “To win an award recognised around the world is a massive accomplishment for the team and testament to the hard work they complete throughout the year.

"We offer the complete golfing package at Carden Park and continually invest in our golf courses ensuring we always offer the highest standards to our guests whether they are playing a golf game, enjoying a golf day or visiting for a golf break”

World Golf Awards general manager, Chris Frost, added: “The fifth instalment of the 2018 World Golf Awards has been the most successful to date. It has been an honour to recognise so many world-class organisations here this evening”

The Cheshire course, one of two at the luxury Carden Park Hotel, is situated at the back of the estate. It opened in 1993 and pre-dates the hotel by four years. The championship course, which has been used to host pre-qualifying events for the European tour, enjoys beautiful views across the 1,000-acre estate out to the Welsh hills beyond.

Since opening, more than a million rounds of golf have been played on the Cheshire Course at the luxury Carden Park country estate and over the years, the course has had major investment including £80,000 spent on the bunkers in 2014.

The second golf course at Carden Park was famously designed by the great Jack Nicklaus and son Steve and is perfect for every level of golfer. Situated next to the plush vineyard and offering stunning views of the Welsh hills, the course allows an average fourball to complete the course in 4 ¾ hours.

Contributing to the award were the amenities that are available outside of the golf course including 198 newly renovated guestrooms and a luxury spa set to open in Summer 2019.

Alongside this is the AA rosette winning Redmond’s restaurant, which serves Carden Park Estate Reserve wine (the grapes are grown onsite within the three-acre vineyard).
