THOUSANDS of people flocked to Cheshire Oaks last nights for its annual Christmas lights switch-on event.

There were oohs and aahs aplenty as the crowds were entertained by a spectacular fireworks display.

The little ones were able to meet Father Christmas and his elves and, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of The Snowman, visitors enjoyed a live orchestra performance of the film. Nine-year-old Harry Small, from Knutsford in Cheshire, has been picked to sing the legendary ‘Walking in the Air’ from the film in front of the thousands of visitors.

Chester theatre school, The Hammond, warmed up the audience with a carol recital, featuring a solo performance from the 2016 Britain’s Got Talent finalist, Beau Dermott.

This Christmas, Cheshire Oaks will be supporting Autism Together.

We asked you to send us your photos from the event on the Ellesmere Port Standard, Chester Standard, and Pride in the Port Facebook pages, and you did not disappoint!
