WE asked you to send you Halloween pictures and you did not disappoint!

The Chester and Ellesmere Port Standard Facebook pages have been inundated with your imaginative and spooky - and sometimes downright hideous - photographs as people in the region enjoyed Halloween parties or calling on their neighbours to "trick or treat".

Skeletons, witches and killer clowns were among the most popular choice of costume this year - but there was a strong showing for old favourites werewolves, zombies, vampires, and Frankenstein's monsters.

Some chose to dress as their favourite characters from the movies, with Harley Quinn, The Joker, killer dolls Chucky and Tiffany, and Pennywise among the most popular.

There were also undead versions of popular costumes such as zombie cheerleaders, beauty scream queens, and corpse brides.

Many chose to do their own make up effects and, with the skills on show here, we might see them working in Hollywood in the future.

The most popular costumes for those celebrating their first Halloween was a pumpkin.

The pumpkin was also a popular choice for pet owners who wanted their dogs and cats - and even a chicken - join in the Halloween fun.
