A FIVE-VEHICLE collision on the M56 is causing more delays on Cheshire's motorways today (Friday).
Cheshire police say the collision, reported at 1.47pm, happened on the eastbound carriageway between junctions 14 (Hapsford) and 12 (Runcorn).
More than seven miles of tailbacks have been reported back to junction 15.
It involved a Toyota Yaris, a Honda Civic, a Vauxhall Insignia, a Seat Leon and a Vauxhall Vectra.
No injuries have been reported but the collision has blocked all three lanes of the motorway, meaning traffic is passing through on the hard shoulder only.
Motorists are advised to expect delays if heading in that direction.
An ambulance has been deployed to the scene of the incident.
News of the collision follows a 10-vehicle collision on the M6 motorway earlier today near Knutsford.
Two people received minor injuries in the collision which involved several HGVs, a double-decker bus and a car transporter, resulting in a lengthy ongoing clean-up operation.
