A 22-year-old man drove extremely erratically through Prestatyn narrowly missing parked vehicles before mounting a pavement and just avoiding a bus shelter, a court heard.
Samuel Hibberd, of St David’s Drive, Connah’s Quay, had been twice the alcohol limit and struggled with police at Prestatyn, magistrates were told.
He admitted driving a car with a breath-alcohol count of 78 early on October 4 and resisting police. The legal limit is 35.
Hibberd was banned from driving for 20 months and fined a total of £200.
He has to pay £115 costs.
Defence solicitor Nia Dawson told Llandudno magistrates he was sorry. She said :”He will never put himself in this position again. He’s mortified to put his family through this.”
Hibberd had been made redundant and was seeking an apprenticeship.
