A CYCLIST sustained serious injuries in a collision on Cheshire-Flintshire border.

Shortly after 1pm on Tuesday, October 16, emergency services were called to reports that a cyclist had come off his bike on Seahill Road, Saughall. 

The man, believed to be in his 70s, was airlifted to Aintree Hospital in Liverpool.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “Enquiries are ongoing and officers are trying to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident."

Police appealed for the owner of a red Renault Megane to contact them. The motorist, who stopped at the scene to help the victim, has now spoken to officers.

Further details on the incident are not yet clear.
