A LORRY became wedged under a railway bridge at a 45 degree angle in a village near Chester.
The accident happened at around midday today (Thursday, October 4) on Whitchurch Road in Beeston.
Fire crews from Northwich and Chester attended the scene and paramedics provided treatment to the driver.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Other emergency services are also at the scene along with the Environment Agency. Crews have began using specialist equipment to stop the diesel from going into a drain and Highways Agency are beginning to clear up the spillage.
"The driver isn't trapped and is in the care of the ambulance service."
Firefighters left the scene at around 3pm and the incident is now in the hands of the Highways Agency. The lorry has been removed from the bridge.
