THERE were villains on the streets of Chester - but fortunately there were also heroes on hand to save the day!

The costumed capers were all to promote Chester Comic Con. Now in it’s third year it promises again to be bigger and better.

Organisers of the popular event to be held at Chester Racecourse, Mark Jones and Stuart Stevenson said: "We are lucky to have Chester Racecourse as our venue, because of its size we have been expanding year on year and will continue to do so."

With almost 4,000 people attending last year it promises to be a another fantastic event.

More celebrity guests from film and television will be in attendance, including the fifth Doctor Peter Davison plus actor Terry Molloy who portrayed his arch nemesis and creator of the Daleks Davros.

From Star Wars there is the dark lord himself, Darth Vader. Rhyl actor Spencer Wilding portrayed film's number one in Star Wars: Rogue One. Spencer has also appeared in Doctor Who, Green Lantern, The Wolfman and Ghost Rider.

Game of Thrones will be represented by actor Julian Glover who portrayed Grand Maester Pycelle in the popular television show, as well as Aimee Richardson and Pixie Le Knot.

All celebrities will be signing autographs, and taking part in Q&A sessions and photo ops.

There will also be some cool star cars and film prop replicas from Back to the Future, Star Wars, Transformers and more.

Mark and Stuart added: "We are also looking to expand our gaming area and introduce a ‘kids zone’ with some great interactive activities for our younger audience’’.

And finally no comic con is complete without comics and comic artists. There will be thousands of comics on offer from trade stalls and artists who have worked on the likes of Superman, Batman, Justice League Avengers, Suicide Squad and more.

Chester Comic Con is on at the Racecourse on Sunday, September 23.
