A TOP Cheshire chef has had all four of his restaurants recognised in the Good Food Guide 2019.

Gary Usher opened his first bistro Sticky Walnut in Hoole in 2011 after working at the likes of Chester Grosvenor, Chez Bruce and Chapter One.

Four years later, Gary began a successful crowdfunding campaign to open his second bistro Burnt Truffle in his hometown of Heswall.

After plenty of crowdfunding success, Gary now has four bistros in Merseyside, Chester and Didsbury - all of which are listed in 2019's Good Food Guide.

To secure a place in the guide, Gary's restaurants have been ranked by cooking score, editor appraisal and feedback from Good Food Guide readers.

Gary said: “We’re so chuffed that all of the restaurants have been recognised in this year’s Good Food Guide.

"Behind every great business is a great team and it’s very rewarding to have received so much overwhelming support and recognition for each restaurant.”

Gary’s latest bistro, Pinion, soon to be opening in Prescot, is the fastest funded food project in the UK, raising the full £50,000 target in under an hour.

Pinion will open on September 28.
