THE town council is looking for a group of friendly volunteers to help maintain the new town park.
The council is looking to establish a group that wants to see the new green space grow into an attractive space for the whole community to enjoy.
Members of the public are being sought to help form the group that would take an active role in looking after the plants, pools and habitats around the £900,000 facility.
Resident John Malam, who proposed the idea of the group, said: “Many parks around the country have these groups, and it would be good if our new town park could find the community enthusiasm and energy to set one up but the initiative has to come from the community.”
Cllr Stephen Burns, Labour member for Winsford Swanlow and Dene, added: “We are really proud of Winsford Town Park. It is going to be an amazing space for Winsford residents.”
Jo Fawcett, a garden designer contracted by Cheshire West and Chester Council who worked on the new park, will be at the event to meet residents, discuss the plants and how the group can help to take care of them.
The council are proposing an event in the park on Friday, August 17, from 4pm until 7pm to sign up as part of the new group.
