THIS year’s Darnhall Show proved to be bigger than before when crowds flocked to the annual event.

The sun shone on Sunday, July 7, when the fourth Darnhall Show was held on Court House Farm, off Swanlow Lane.

The show included a fun fair, a dog show, steam engine, vintage cars and wagons, farmer’s market, blacksmithing demonstration, shopping tent, jujitsu demonstration, raffle and tombola and dancers.

A small craft and produce competition was also run and the organisers say it is hoped it will be expanded on next year.

Sue Langley, Darnhall Show organiser, said: “Huge thanks to everyone one who attended the show and helped set it all up and take it all down again on Monday.

“The committee are pleased to say we have made a profit which will go towards the next phase of repairs to Darnhall Village Hall.”

This year’s Darnhall Rose Queen was Bryony Lomas, age six.

Winsford Town Mayor Cllr Gina Lewis went along in the afternoon and judged the best vintage tractor, presenting the winners with rosettes.

Sue added: “We start again now to prepare for next year’s show so if anyone has any ideas or would like to get involved in some way please contact me.

“We hope you enjoyed your day and look forward to seeing you all again next year.”
