Police are appealing for information after a man's body was discovered on a pavement in Bebington, Wirral.

Emergency services were called to New Chester Road at around 9.45pm on Sunday night after a member of the public found the body

The man has not yet been identified and a post mortem will be carried out to establish the cause of death.

His death is currently being treated as unexplained.

Detectives are appealing to anyone who was in the area between 8pm and 9.45pm and may have seen a man aged 40 to 50, white with short brown hair, a pale complexion and wearing a green wax jacket, dark grey/black trousers and grey trainers to get in touch.

It is likely that the man could have travelled by train to and from the Eastham area of the Wirral.
