TOP scorer and captain Gareth Seddon is a major doubt for Chester’s crunch clash at Grimsby Town on Saturday.
Blues boss Steve Burr fears Seddon, who has scored eight goals in all competitions this season, has broken his big toe.
“He’s got a real problem with his big toe. It could be broken,” said Burr, who is desperate to lead Chester to safety in the club’s final four-game run-in.
“Gareth is influential but we can’t afford to carry anyone. We need everyone who starts 100 per cent fit.”
Results have not gone well for Chester in midweek but Burr says it’s up to him and his players to pick up the results needed to stay in the Conference Premier League for another season.
“It’s two from five now to go down and we’ve got to make sure it’s not us,” added Burr.
“I don’t like calling games must-win but at this stage of the season that’s exactly what they are.”
