THE festive season hasn't really started until you've heard glam rock heroes Slade belt out Merry Christmas Everybody and this weekend gives you the chance to hear them do it live.

Led by founder members Dave Hill and Don Powell, Slade play Wrexham William Aston Hall on Sunday December 9 with tickets still available to see one of the UK's best-loved bands in the run-up to Christmas.

Slade first hit the road in 1966, touring throughout Britain and Europe. After joining forces with the former Animals bass guitarist and Jimi Hendrix Experience manager, Chas Chandler, Slade achieved their first chart hit in May 1971 with Get Down And Get With It before Coz I Luv You became the band's first UK number one.

Slade's catalogue of hits are synonymous with the era: classics like Take Me Bak 'Ome, Mama Weer All Crazee Now, Cum On Feel The Noize, Skweeze Me Pleeze Me, Gudbye T'Jane and How Does It Feel ensured Slade became the most successful British group of the 1970s based on sales of singles.

Support on the night will come from Mud 2, which consists of members of the original band Mud, who will be performing some of the band’s biggest hits including Tiger Feet, Lonely This Christmas and Dyna-Mite.

Tickets are available now from Wrexham William Aston Hall box office or go to www.thewilliamastonhall.com or call 0844 249 1000.
