ONE of Chester’s oldest and grandest hotels is welcoming the festive season with a new Christmas-themed addition to its food and drink offering.

Macdonald New Blossoms Hotel, just footsteps away from the historic city’s retail hub, has unveiled a decadent Festive Afternoon Tea, just in time for the Christmas rush.

The Festive Afternoon Tea promises to be a treat to the senses, with freshly-baked sage and onion sausage rolls, handmade pastries and freshly baked mince pies. The wide-ranging selection of festive-finger sandwiches include turkey and cranberry; home cooked ham and honey mustard mayonnaise; brie and apple chutney; and poached Scottish salmon, lemon crème fraiche and watercress.

All afternoon teas are served alongside speciality coffee or herbal infusion tea, while those looking to embrace the festive spirit can add a Candy Cane Cocktail or sparking glass of Champagne.

Steven Hayes, general manager of Macdonald New Blossoms Hotel said: “At Macdonald New Blossoms we take pride in creating some of the most spectacular afternoon teas in Chester. Our Festive Afternoon Tea has been made using only the finest ingredients and is the perfect treat to enjoy after a busy day of Christmas shopping.”

Macdonald New Blossoms Hotel’s Festive Afternoon Tea will be available throughout December.
