BOSS Anthony Johnson and top scorer Danny Elliott says Chester are in a good place heading into 2021.

“We’re in a fortunate position where, rightly or wrongly we’ve got three home games coming up now," said the Blues joint-boss in the build-up to yesterday's ....against Chorley at The Deva Stadium.

On Saturday, The Blues welcome Telford, who they beat 2-1 on Boxing Day, before struggling Guiseley's visit three days later.

"Not many teams get the opportunity to, we’ve earned the right to have that many games, we’ve played eight away and five at home," added Johnson.

“We’re a good home side anyway but we’ve got to go and stamp your authority on it, the pressure is on us, we can’t pretend it’s not.

“If our ambitions are to be met, these are the games we need to relish, look forward to and have to overcome.”

Striker Elliott is confident Chester will improve in the second part of the campaign.

"I think this side is still developing and I'm feeling confident about our chances this season," said the six-goal striker.

"We've come through some difficult times and we have had, what I think fixture-wise, has been a tough start to the season

"But we're in a good position. The games we have lost, it's not exactly as if we've been thrashed. It's only been by the odd goal.
