CHESTER has confirmed the identities of two more players who will be staying at the Swansway Chester Stadium next season.

Striker George Waring has had his option triggered to remain with the Blues after a strong finish to the campaign saw him work his way into joint managers Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley's plans.

The 24-year-old joined the Blues in January following his release from Tranmere Rovers and quickly made his debut up front in the defeat at Spennymoor.

He ended the campaign with an impressive return of five goals from just nine starts. He also made six appearances from the bench.

Waring scored his first goal for his hometown club against Boston United before also registering against Blyth Spartans, York City, Ashton United and Alfreton Town.

Chester has also announced that goalkeeper Theo Roberts has had his contract option exercised – keeping him at the club for the 2019-20 season.

Roberts has been on-loan at Evo-Stik Premier side Buxton for the entirety of the 2018-19 campaign where he has put in a series of excellent performances and been named in the Evo-Stik NPL Show ‘Team of the Season’ as the Bucks reached the play offs, only to be defeated 4-2 at South Sheilds at the semi final stage.
